Our residents and their families enjoy meeting new visitors, and we are always happy to answer any questions you may have. To ensure we can give you the time and attention you need, we kindly ask that you call ahead to arrange an appointment.

How many bedrooms does Offmore Farm have?

The home has 22 single occupancy rooms and 3 couples/companion rooms

What types of care does Offmore Farm provide?

Offmore Farm offers general residential care for older people. This includes dementia care and care for physical disabilities. Respite stays are available.

What are the visiting hours at Offmore Farm?

Do all bedrooms have private bathrooms?

The majority of our rooms are en-suite. We do have a number of toilets/shower rooms and bathrooms in close vicinity to all bedrooms.

Is there a lift at Offmore Farm?

Yes. There is a lift at Offmore Farm, plus a stairlift and wheelchair accessibility.

Are staff DBS-checked?

Yes. It is a legal requirement that all staff undergo DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks before starting employment.

What kind of training do staff receive?

Staff training is very important to us. We have a fully qualified trainer working three days a week to deliver training. All staff have an individual training program.

Does Offmore Farm have male and female carers?

We have a mixture of male and female carers. Residents have a choice of who delivers their care.

How many care staff are on shift at a time?

Staffing levels average Nurse, Unit Manager, seniors + 12 care staff in total during the day and a nurse and five care staff during the night. The Manager ensures safe staffing levels and that they match the dependency of our home.

What makes the team compassionate and dependable?

Families describe the staff as kind and caring, attentive and hard working, patient and thoughtful, professional and treating residents with dignity. Staff create personal relationships with residents and make them feel like part of an extended family.

Is there a laundry service?

Yes. We have a great laundry service that operates 7 days a week. Laundry staff are always happy to speak with the residents about any concerns they may have.

Are meals cooked on site, or brought in?

All food is prepared and cooked on the premises by qualified cooks; all food is cooked fresh and to a high standard, catering to individual needs and preferences.

Do you cater for special diets?

Yes. We recognise special diets and cultural preferences such as vegetarian, vegan, Kosher, gluten free and low salt/sugar. All meals are tailored.

Are there hairdressers, chiropodists, dentists and opticians that visit Offmore Farm?

Yes. All of the above visit on a regular basis but should you wish to continue using your preferred professional then this can be arranged.

Are there any restrictions on visiting times or numbers of visitors?

We ask a maximum of 3 persons per resident to enable staff to accommodate space. Numbers can be increased with notice.

Are visitors able to stay overnight?

Given notice, yes we could accommodate overnight stay.

Yes. We have portable telephones that can be used in the privacy of the bedrooms.

Each resident has a pre-assessment to understand their individual needs before admission, helping tailor a care package. All discussions are no-obligation.

Do residents and families have input in daily life choices?

Yes. Residents help choose menus and are involved via a residents’ committee, including decisions about events and staff interviews.

Can my parents visit to see if they like it at Offmore Farm?

Absolutely. We warmly welcome visitors and respite guests. You’re invited to share a meal with us or enjoy an overnight stay. During your visit, you’ll meet the manager and care team, giving your parents the chance to ask as many questions as they wish.

Are residents allowed their own money?

Yes, but we would ask that this is kept in a lockable draw. We have a safe on site that you are more than welcome to use.

Can residents have their favourite newspapers and magazines delivered?

Yes. There is a nearby newsagent who delivers preferred reading material.

Can the grandchildren visit?

Our manager, staff, and residents always look forward to welcoming children. There’s plenty to keep them entertained during visits; from the garden to activity boxes and games. Their presence truly brings sunshine into our home

Can we hang pictures in the bedrooms?

Yes, but we ask that you liaise with the maintenance operative to put pictures up on your behalf.

Can residents bring electrical items such as TV or lamps?

Yes. Our residents are encouraged to bring in their own belongings. We have a trained PAT tester who can test the equipment before use.

Do residents have to provide their own towels and bed linen?

No. All linens, towels and flannels are provided by the home. There is no need to buy anything, unless the resident has a preference.

Yes, every resident has a pre-assessment before joining our home. This helps us make sure we can meet their needs and put the right care in place from day one. It also gives families peace of mind, knowing their loved one’s care will be tailored to them and provided by our supportive, qualified team. Please note, we’re not able to carry out dementia assessments.

No. Whilst we are a general residential care home, we are not specialists in palliative and end-of-life care.
